An evolution replaces a weapon with a dramatically stronger version. Every base weapon has exactly one evolution. Most need a specific passive perk; the four Corporate Mergers need a second maxed weapon instead, and merge both into one.
How evolving works
- Raise the weapon to level 8 through level-ups.
- Own the matching passive perk at any level (for a Corporate Merger: raise the partner weapon to level 8 too).
- Open a Supply Crate. Crates are dropped by Middle Managers (elites with a glowing outline) and by every boss.
If several weapons are ready, one crate can evolve more than one of them, and lucky crates contain three or five rewards. Luck (the Lucky Cat perk and your home's luck bonus) raises the odds.
